As Sydney is still in lockdown I've been finding joy in more things that give me comfort like bible journaling , making heaps of little treats like these pancakes & more houseplant purchasing and watching some good tv shows and heaps of furbabies snuggles
We just used a pancake batter mix from white wings and some olive oil to cook them in the pan
we then added lemon juice and some brown sugar on top it was so light and refreshing I added some strawberries on the side as they have been so fresh and delicious lately
I would be so lost without my babies Eleanor & Violet as they bring so much joy and happiness
I've been finding that doing things like having a nice homemade breakfast makes being in lockdown easier also i've nearly finished Gilmore girls also I've been purchasing some new decor pieces and re organising my room with some new items from Kmart as well
I hope you are all safe & well

Since i began my Houseplant collection last year this is my houseplants first humid Sydney summer so I've been very particular with how I take care of these plant babies the first thing I love to do is keep my misting to a minimum of 2 times a week I use rain water to help with the plants as it has natural minerals and no chlorine
Some of these have grown so much during the summer weather its been really lovely to see them all blooming new leaves A good spray of neem oil & a good houseplant food is perfect for the house plants i use the plant runner food for my houseplants you need to add water to a shaker bottle add 2 drops of the houseplant food serum and shake the bottle
I use my diffuser at least once every second day just to keep the plants nice & moist but not soaking wet also good lighting is essential for house plants I have mine west side of our window area so they get a nice amount of sun but not too much heat from our sun in Sydney
I keep a plant meter on hand at all times to keep a check on how the plants are going if they are having the proper amount of light & water

As we've been in the House a lot more lately I have taken my love for all things succulents and indoor plants to create a little nook in our spare room full of my house plants that I have been growing in this post I will be telling you what I use to keep these plants looking healthy during the winter months
Firstly the main thing you need for all of these houseplants is Distilled water as it has no chlorine the chlorine that is in water harms the healthy growth of new leaves and does cause yellowing and browning in the leaves i purchase my distilled water in 5 litre bottles at Bunnings
I do use a water meter that i found from Amazon i always check my plants daily to make sure they are looking healthy
plus i use a diffuser a few times a day misting the plants helps as well that is what has helped me with
the houseplants
The Calatheas
These plants come in all different colours and variations these can be very temperamental you will know right away if something is wrong with your plant they need to be checked daily my diffuser runs at 180 minutes about 3 times a day to make sure they are getting to adequate humidity they need
White Fusion Calathea from Plants by Wendy
This beautiful baby has a mix of Green Creams & Purple undersides this is one of my favourite calatheas although there has been lots of tears growing this plant as my 1st one had not gone so great but this one is absolutely thriving from Plants by Wendy
Calathea Peacock Door 2 Door Plants
The peacock plant is a fun deep green leaf with little flecks of lighter green on the leaves the underside has a purple burgundy tone which is stunning when the plant lifts up at nighttime
The colours in these leaves are so beautiful the light lime green shade mixed with the deeper green of the striped pattern on the leaves also the shape of these leaves are so pretty and unique
Peperomia Plants
Moonlight & Red Luna these colours are just stunning I keep these 2 in my bedroom in a east facing window my moonlight peperomia is from Bunnings & the red luna is from door 2 door plants
Ivy Plants
Hendra Ivy
have the most gorgeous mix of green & cream leaves
Variegated Ivy
that I got online from a plant shop called Plant it up is a stunning cream and green ivy with flecks of purples in the leaves and on the stem of the plant
Rubber Plant
This rubber plant I actually got from Ikea last year its grown so well in the summer I place this little beauty outside to get some extra colour come to life in this plant
What are some of your favourite house plants

Autumn is always a time when I start to really check on succulents that have produced babies these ones that I picked from my succulent garden area have grown so big they are full of healthy growth and they have a healthy stem on them for propagating
These have been growing in my big ceramic pot for over 2 years I always use a good quality soil mix and I apply sea sol which is a natural fertiliser with seaweed extract
The main area you need for these to stress and turn this purple colour is a warm shaded area in summer to protect the leaves from burning in the colder seasons its good for them to get sunlight

Lately I have been researching a lot more different varieties of Succulents & House Plants there is just something about leafy greens and succulents that have a variation of pinks purples & whites that im really loving for my garden
As I was stumbling online searches of the Tradescantia Tricolour me & my mum found these little succulents that we've been looking at for ages on Ebay and the lady that sold them to us actually lived down the road from us which was really good as she has such a beautiful arrangement of different plants they were only $10 a pot which was such a bargain
I already have few different Tradescantia's already but the tri colour one has been on my Wishlist for ages now we also got a senecio peregrinus which is called string of Dolphins plectranthus prostratus which is also called swedish ivy hearts
Purple Heart Tradescantia
These types of plant grow like wild from a tiny clipping I have propagated heaps of the Purple Heart plant all over different garden beds we have you must give them a good water about twice a week you really need to keep the soil moist for these plants they also love indirect sunlight as well
The Rhoeo Spathacea also called Moses in the cradle has also been on my Wishlist this little stunner loves the full sun and like the Tradescantia it also loves a good moister level of water for the soil I added some string of pearls to this to add some more texture

Gardening has been one of my favourite things to do for a few years now I've recently bought some new Cactus inspired pots and planted some of my favourite Succulents from my garden
I tend to grow many different types of Echeveria's & Sedums the reason why I love these are because they tend to grow super quickly and in clusters they have a gorgeous arrangement of colours and they all require only a little bit of water Sempervivum Tectorum
They look like little roses with a pop of brownish leaves they produce small pink red or orange star shaped flowers
The pots are from Tims Garden Centre I also use the Tims best potting mix
